The Winch

The Winch was founded in 1973, when local residents occupied The Old Winchester Arms, a pub that had been derelict since 1969, and converted it into a much-needed youth and community centre. Since 1973, they have worked with thousands of children, young people and families across North Camden to improve their chances in life. The issues they tackle include social exclusion, homelessness and gang involvement. They provide activities, opportunities and support as well as an out of hours phone line and access to additional services provided by their partners in education, health, housing and general advice.
