Diversity & Inclusion

OVERVIEW:

Our training is designed to support delegates as they facilitate a more inclusive culture where diversity and inclusion isn’t just about ticking boxes or being politically correct. Delegates will be encouraged to relate exercises back to their current work, and each training will conclude developing an initial Action Plan for their organisation and/or board.

We incorporate a mix of delivery methods to ensure that all delegates are engaged throughout and achieve the agreed learning objective.

Aim – The aim of this session is to enable the delegates to explore the advantages of working in a diverse and inclusive organisation and why it is relevant to them

Objectives

All delegates will be able to:

  • Have an understanding of the Single Equality Act 2010 (Protected characteristics and amendments to the legislation)
  • Analyse and evaluate diversity strands outside of the Equality Act (Different types and categories of diversity)
  • Articulate the business case for diversity and inclusion
  • Know how to foster an inclusive culture
  • Find external and Internal support groups and organisations

Most delegates will be able to:

  • Examine and propose future amendments to the Equality Act 2010
  • Produce a diversity and inclusion action plan for their department
  • Explore best practice from different sectors (Sport, Public sector and Private)
  • Know how to address unconscious bias in recruitment and selection, selecting a project team, decision making and governance
  • Fostering diversity champions and creating a thriving staff network
  • Hiring, advancing and retaining the best diverse talent

Some delegates should be able to :

  • Examine stakeholder contributions to creating and fostering an inclusive culture
  • Design a monitoring tool to evaluate their organisation’s ongoing diversity and inclusion impact
  • Conduct effective Equality Impact Assessments
