About the role:
Could you make venues the place students choose to go? University of Sussex Students’ Union is on the edge of one of the most exciting, vibrant cities in the country and they want their venues to be seen to be part of that scene. If you are a person that can deliver change whilst bringing others with you (and knows what a great night out should be!) then they want you on their team.
They are looking for an experienced manager for their venues at the University of Sussex and at Brighton. This position involves working with staff to develop venues, making sure they have exciting programmes to suit the needs of customers, as well as managing the day-to-day life of the bars, including catering provision.
As our Venues Manager, you will be responsible for the management and development of our fours bars and catering, being supported by the bar staff and the Deputy Venues Manager. You will have to work evenings and weekends at specific periods but not all of the time.
Perks and Benefits:
There are many perks to working for us such as Friday’s £1 staff drinks, free breakfast once a week and a relaxed and friendly work culture. Furthermore, our staff have access to volunteering leave, study leave and 7% employer pension contributions, among other great benefits.
We are also located on the beautiful South Downs National Park and near the vibrant Brighton and Hove city centre
About the Student’s Union
The Students’ Union is a charitable organisation and its direction is democratically determined by its members, the University’s students. We carry out research to find out what students think of us and to assist in our campaigning and lobbying. As well as representation, the Students’ Union provides a variety of services to help students through university life, including academic advice, sports clubs, student media, social, cultural and political societies, commercial services such as bars and shops plus our very own lettings agency.
