Inclusive Boards are delighted to be supporting Orpheus in their search for two new Learning Trustees and one new Finance Trustee.

Orpheus is a vibrant Independent Specialist college for young disabled adults who have a passion for the performing arts and a desire to live independently. Orpheus believes that disabled people should have the same opportunities as their non-disabled peers. We aim to equip young disabled people with the skills and confidence they need in order to live independent and fulfilling lives in the community

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of Orpheus, developing the organisations aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.

For the Learning Trustee role, we are particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience in the following areas:

  • Teaching leadership with young adults preferably in music, drama, art or music technology.
  • Education commissioning with Local Authorities.
  • Quality parameters in education, in particular Ofsted and safeguarding.
  • The barriers young disabled people have transitioning into adulthood, in particular career development.

For the Finance Trustee role, we are particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience in the following areas:

  • A Qualified Accountant
  • Experience of working with SME or the charity sector
  • Experience of liaising with auditors
  • Experience of liaising with local authorities
  • Experience of working with young disabled adults and/or the performing arts
