The National Lottery Community Fund's core purpose is to support people and communities to thrive. Supporting communities across the UK is now more important than ever as people and organisations attempt to survive, recover and support others as we emerge from the coronavirus crisis.
We are one of 12 distributors of National Lottery funding. We work closely with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the license holder for The National Lottery, currently Camelot, to distribute National Lottery funding across the UK. Every year, as one of the largest distributors, we award around £600 million of funding raised by players of The National Lottery. Last year we awarded over £752 million of National Lottery money to communities and this amounted to over 20,000 grants.
We are looking for an England Director (Strategy,Partnerships and Engagement)as well as an England Director (Programmes, Operations and Regions) who together will have shared accountability for the England Directorate’s day to day operational delivery and longer-term strategic direction, positively leading the team into its next chapter of growth and development.
Director – Strategy, Partnership and Engagement (England)
For this role, the ideal candidate will be a credible, inspirational leader who demonstrates the ability to step in and engage confidently with external partners of The National Lottery Community Fund.
We are particularly interested to hear from candidates who have experience in the following areas:
- Experience representing an ethical organisation or something similar to external stakeholders and have worked with other senior leaders to develop and deliver organisational goals and strategic vision.
- A strong leader who can work with a team and lead from within to align the team with strategic funding and maximise the impact of a diverse and talented senior team.
- Credibility to develop key relationships with government and publics sector partners and promote the work of the Fund. You will be comfortable public speaking and not be afraid to negotiate.
For this role, the ideal candidate will be a professional and confident leader who has the ability to shape direction and purpose, setting clear strategies and goals. Using your experience to manage the operational function, you should feel confident leading within an organisation going through transformational change and delivering within a complex model.
We are particularly interested to hear from candidates who have experience in the following areas:
- Dynamic leadership with exceptional people skills used to managing a diverse senior leadership based nationally to deliver key strategic objectives and initiatives.
- Professional and confident leadership with the ability to shape direction and purpose, setting clear strategies and goals. Using your experience to manage the operational function, you should feel confident leading within an organisation going through transformational change and delivering within a complex model
