Concern Worldwide (UK) is an international humanitarian organisation specialising in tackling hunger in the world's poorest countries. Their mission is to help people living in extreme poverty achieve major improvements in their lives. Concern Worldwide (UK) is seeing to appoint a new Chair of Trustees. The incoming Chair of Trustees will demonstrate a passion for the values and work of Concern and ensure the good governance and impact of the organisation is continued.

The Chair will have the vision to guide the organisation at a pivotal time where a confluence of climate change, conflict and cost of living crisis means that the work of Concern has never been more important, but the demands placed on the organisation and resources are increasing.

About you:

You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the charity's objects, aim and values as well as being a strategic visionary in relation to the charity's objects and aims.

You will need to understand the UK charity sector and relevant legislations, good governance practice as well as Charity Commission and Companies House requirements.

The role of the Chair is ultimately to take the lead on ensuring that trustees comply with their duties and the charity is well governed. A full description of the role including the person specification is in the candidate pack, please be sure to download and read it in full.
