Bill Liao is a Chinese Australian entrepreneur who has grown unicorn companies in both the southern (Davnet) and northern (Xing) hemispheres. A General Partner of the global investment fund, SOSV, he founded and is Managing Director of the world’s first bio-tech accelerator programme, RebelBio, at Imperial College, London. He is co-founder of CoderDojo (now part of RaspberryPi) which currently has more than 12,000 volunteers running coding clubs for children in 93 countries. As Chair of the Social Tech Trust (formerly Nominet) Bill is instrumental in changing lives through tech. A keen innovator, Bill values the experience and aspirations that BAME communities bring to the development space. As a child bullied at school for his dual heritage, he found salvation in tech where the way one looked or the place one came from was immaterial to success: “Tech enables the young. It is a force for good. You can change the world in minutes.
