CEO and Founder of Shoobs

Louise Broni-Mensah is the CEO and founder of Shoobs, the leading online discovery and booking destination for urban events. She is the first black female entrepreneur to secure capital from the prestigious accelerator Y Combinator, with only 2% of capital venture investments going to women. Having previous experience in the finance industry and the music industry, Louise uses her diverse combination of experience and skills to add to her increasing success within the tech industry. Gaining a BSc in Mathematical Economics at The University of Birmingham, after graduating Louise completed a number of internships at record labels in London and ultimately attained senior positions in leading organisations in the banking and finance sector.

Louise works vigorously to close the gender and ethnicity gap in tech, building and developing a dynamic global company. Louise believes it’s important to encourage young black women to believe in themselves and their ability to achieve. Most recently, Louise was recognised as one of Britain’s most influential Black people under 40 by Powerful Media and honoured as Entrepreneur of 2019 at the Black Magic Awards.
