Inclusive Boards are delighted to support the University of Birmingham Guild of Students in their search for a new Chair of Trustees.
The Guild of Students (the Guild) is a successful, vibrant and exciting organisation, with an extensive history leading the student movement and a bright future ahead. As a registered charity, the Guild is the students’ union for more than 38,000 students at the University of Birmingham.
The Guild plays a key and pivotal role in the student experience at the University of Birmingham. The Guild offers a range of services and activities which not only help to attract students to the University, but which also contribute to a vibrant student experience, as well as supporting the wider sense of community and belonging.

The Guild are seeking a candidate with an understanding of the issues facing students in higher education today and the important role of a students’ union within the wider student experience. They seek an individual who has strong stakeholder skills and can champion the Guild, whilst leading, mentoring and supporting the Board in the unique governance arrangements within a students’ union.
The ideal candidate will be experienced at a strategic leadership level and be competent at chairing meetings and ensuring collective decision making.
